The world is going through an unprecedented period of hardship and uncertainty as a result of the outbreak of the corona virus COVID-19 pandemic and our thoughts are with those affected. It was not possible for the HCII2020 conference to escape the consequences of the counter-measures taken to avoid the spread of the disease.
As a result of the Danish government's announcement, dated 21 April 2020, to ban all large events (above 500 participants) until the 1st of September, the HCII2020 conference could not be held physically.
Overcoming challenges and difficulties, we transformed the HCII2020 Conference in a virtual format aiming to give the opportunity to our authors to present their work and exchange ideas, using the CISCO Webex Events platform.
The conference proceedings publication schedule was kept, with 40 volumes appearing just before the planned start of the conference. In addition, 7 “Late Breaking Papers” LNCS volumes and 2 “Late Breaking Posters” CCIS volumes, will appear in late September. The full 49-volume set comprises the HCII 2020 Conference Proceedings published by Springer.
HCI International 2020, jointly with the affiliated Conferences, under the auspices of 21 distinguished international boards of 491 board members from 49 different countries, held under one management and one registration, will take place at AC Bella Sky Hotel and Bella Center, Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Conference will start with three days of Tutorials (19-21 July). Parallel Sessions with paper presentations, Poster Sessions and the Exhibition will be held during the next three days (22-24 July) of the Conference.
As a result of the Danish government's announcement, dated 21 April 2020, to ban all large events (above 500 participants) until the 1st of September, the HCII2020 conference could not be held physically and was transformed to a virtual format. The conference program has been modified accordingly.
